Direct Support Professional - Worth CILA
Overview
Ensure community living services meet client and Agency expectations through direct service support and administrative coordination. Coordinate service scheduling and review reports to maintain supply levels. Provide support to residents in daily living skills and independent living goals.
What You'll Do21
- 1Evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living skills including personal hygiene and grooming housekeeping laundry and clothing care meal planning and preparation money management and budgeting socialization and recreation leisure activities
- 2Assist residents in achieving maximum independent functioning per Independent Habilitation Plan
- 3Implement group and individual programs promoting growth toward independent living
- 4Prepare daily schedules including household chores social activities and appointments
- 5Complete and insure timeliness of assigned documents and forms such as daily progress reports CILA shift reports van log sheets incident reports MAR sheets
- 6Monitor facility maintenance to assure safe clean and healthy environment
- 7Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties such as vacuuming dusting sweeping and mopping
- 8Monitor residents for wellness and safety enforcing facility curfew when required
- 9Supervise resident schedules and activities to ensure timely arrival to day programs or job sites
- 10Supervise and assist residents with medication administration according to program guidelines
- 11Attend and participate in all IHP staffing sessions
- 12Assist in planning and supervising recreational and social program activities
- 13Plan menus and assist with meal preparation as required
- 14Monitor and observe residents with special dietary needs
- 15Attend and participate in all staff meetings
- 16Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies following Health and Safety Aggression Management First Aid CPR and other procedures
- 17Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance
- 18Report medical behavioral emergencies or unusual incidents to Program Director Associate Director and/or Division Director
- 19Transport and accompany residents to appointments and other services
- 20Check all rooms upon arrival to ensure residents are home and monitor wellness and safety
- 21Check and secure all doors and windows to insure building safety and activate alarm system nightly
Requirements5
- 1Two years of college or one year of college plus two years of full-time related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent plus five years full-time related work experience
- 2Proof of Direct Service Professional DSP training
- 3Pass TABE test within 120 days of hire
- 4Valid driver's license and ability to drive agency vehicles
- 5Experience in direct support professional services
