Overview
RHA Health Services seeks a Positive and Personable Direct Support Professional to make a real difference for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. This entry-level FT role involves advocating for clients, implementing personalized plans, and supporting community integration. You will wear many hats including advocate, cheerleader, teacher, and coach while fostering positive relationships and promoting independence.
What You'll Do10
- 1Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents
- 2Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice
- 3Accompany clients to community outings and appointments
- 4Teach independent living skills and assist with daily tasks
- 5Document care provided and provide education on rights
- 6Support medication administration where permitted by state law
- 7Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
- 8Connect individuals with resources for career and educational opportunities
- 9Drive clients to community activities when needed
- 10Foster positive relationships within the community
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED (TN preferred)
- 2At least 18 years of age
- 3Valid driver's license
- 4Conflict resolution skills
- 5Strong communication abilities
- 6Ability to maintain confidentiality
- 7Experience with diverse challenges of individuals with disabilities
- 8Preference for candidates with TN Preferred High School Diploma
