Overview

You will own the setup and optimization of progressive dies across six buildings, supporting a high-volume stamping operation with presses ranging from 100 to 600 tons. Your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate die installation and press parameter adjustment, directly impacting production uptime and part quality. You will work closely with the production team, troubleshooting die performance and maintaining tooling to meet daily output targets. What You'll Do9

  • 1Install progressive dies into stamping presses according to job specs and production schedules.
  • 2Adjust press parameters including feed length, shut height, sensors, and settings to ensure consistent part quality.
  • 3Perform first-piece inspections and make precise adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • 4Operate stamping presses safely, monitoring output for defects or equipment issues.
  • 5Maintain dies by sharpening punches, replacing springs, and servicing components.
  • 6Troubleshoot die performance, material feed, and machine function issues to minimize downtime.
  • 7Track and maintain setup and production records, including counts, times, and maintenance logs.
  • 8Follow all safety policies and report hazards, defects, or malfunctions immediately.
  • 9Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on tooling efficiency and setup processes.

Requirements8

  • 14+ years of hands-on experience setting up and installing progressive dies.
  • 2Proven ability to adjust press parameters including feed length, shut height, sensors, and settings.
  • 3Experience performing first-piece inspections and precision adjustments for dimensional accuracy.
  • 4Practical experience with die maintenance, including preventive maintenance and repair.
  • 5Understanding of die design principles for setup, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • 6Strong troubleshooting skills for die performance, material feed, and machine operation.
  • 7Ability to maintain accurate production and setup documentation.
