Desktop Support Technician, Walk-Up IT Help Desk
Overview
You will own in-person, walk-up technical support for associates at a St. Paul, Minnesota office, resolving device, OS, and software issues on the spot. This role sits on a small IT team and covers Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory across 500+ users. You will triage incidents, manage tickets in ServiceNow, and ensure meeting rooms run without A/V failures. The position stands out for its high-touch, face-to-face support model and direct impact on daily productivity.
What You'll Do7
- 1Resolve walk-up incidents for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices using Windows and macOS tools.
- 2Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 apps, including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive, to restore access and sync issues.
- 3Provision and image new machines with SCCM and Intune, configuring profiles and peripheral setups.
- 4Support conference room A/V systems, including Zoom Rooms and Crestron controllers, for live meetings and events.
- 5Escalate unresolved network or server issues to tier 2/3 teams, documenting steps in ServiceNow.
- 6Maintain asset inventory and software licensing records using Excel and the IT asset database.
- 7Create and update knowledge base articles for common fixes, reducing repeat tickets.
Requirements7
- 12+ years supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS in a corporate environment.
- 2Hands-on experience with Active Directory user and group management.
- 31+ years troubleshooting Microsoft 365 suite in a help desk role.
- 4Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira.
- 5Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds for desk setups.
- 6A+ certification or equivalent technical training preferred.
- 7Comfortable working onsite 5 days a week in St. Paul.
