Overview
You'll own delivery and event setup for South Jersey Party Rentals, handling equipment from warehouse to customer site across the Philadelphia area. You'll work with the dispatch team to ensure accurate orders, load and unload rental equipment, and instruct customers on safe operation. This role is the front line of customer satisfaction, requiring a clean driver's license and the ability to lift 100 lbs. You'll get hands-on experience with event equipment and safety protocols in a team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Load and unload rental equipment onto delivery trucks, prepping items like tables, chairs, and tents as needed.
- 2Deliver and pick up equipment at customer locations, using road maps and clear communication to navigate efficiently.
- 3Provide directional assistance to the driver during parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- 4Double-check delivered items against the order to ensure the customer receives exactly what was ordered.
- 5Instruct customers on equipment operation, starting equipment and reviewing safety features on items like propane heaters and electrical generators.
- 6Record delivery and pick up details accurately, including missing or broken items, and obtain customer signatures on required forms.
- 7Notify the dispatcher or store immediately if behind schedule so customers can be informed of delays.
- 8Identify and communicate new sales opportunities and job sites to management during deliveries.
- 9Adhere to all company policies, government safety regulations, and security procedures, attending safety meetings as scheduled.
- 10Maintain a professional appearance and interact with customers in a polite, friendly manner.
Requirements8
- 1Ability to lift 100 lbs and perform physical tasks like stooping, crouching, bending, and carrying.
- 2Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (CDL-A is a plus but not required).
- 31+ years of customer service experience, with strong communication skills in English (additional languages a plus).
- 4Ability to read road maps and give clear directions to a driver.
- 5Basic math skills to verify orders and make calculations.
- 6Full range of motion and dexterity for loading and unloading equipment.
- 7Must maintain an acceptable attendance record and a cooperative working relationship with coworkers.
- 8Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including safety procedures.
