Databricks Technical Architect
Overview
Lead Databricks technical architecture and productionize Lakehouse platforms for clients. Translate business requirements into technical designs, build and scale Delta Lake pipelines, and integrate GenAI solutions. Partner with functional leads to ensure platform decisions support data quality and governance.
What You'll Do11
- 1Stand up and configure Databricks environments end-to-end including Unity Catalog design and VPC networking
- 2Design and deploy medallion pipelines using Delta Live Tables and Structured Streaming
- 3Establish IaC and CI/CD foundations with Terraform and GitHub Actions
- 4Build applied AI solutions on Mosaic AI including vector search and conversational BI
- 5Optimize Delta Lake performance and architect scalable data pipelines
- 6Integrate Databricks with enterprise stacks via Lakehouse Federation and Delta Sharing
- 7Partner with MDM leads to align platform decisions with data governance workflows
- 8Document architecture decisions and lead technical workstreams
- 9Mentor engineers and coach client technology partners
- 10Translate business needs into technical specifications for large-scale data platforms
- 11Drive continuous improvement of data platform delivery processes
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
- 2At least 4 years hands-on Databricks experience
- 3Required: Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Machine Learning Professional
- 4Cloud-agnostic capability across AWS Azure and GCP with AWS preference
- 5Deep expertise in Delta Lake Unity Catalog Delta Live Tables Structured Streaming
- 6Working experience with Mosaic AI Agent Framework Vector Search Model Serving
- 7Familiarity with Python SQL PySpark and Scala
- 8Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform Databricks Asset Bundles
- 9CI/CD knowledge for data platforms
- 10Exposure to MDM data quality workflows
- 11Strong communication and collaboration skills
