Data Architect (Databricks), Lakehouse Platform
Overview
You will lead enterprise-scale data platform modernization, migrating from AWS EMR, Apache NiFi, and legacy ETL frameworks to the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. You will architect and implement scalable Lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows. You will design end-to-end data pipelines for batch, streaming, and CDC, and govern data across the organization. This role centers on technical leadership and hands-on architecture, shaping the data strategy for a long-term project.
What You'll Do8
- 1Architect and implement enterprise-scale Lakehouse solutions on Databricks with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog
- 2Drive migration from AWS EMR and Apache NiFi to the Databricks Lakehouse Platform
- 3Design and govern end-to-end data pipelines for batch, streaming, and CDC using Databricks Workflows
- 4Lead technical design reviews and enforce best practices for data modeling and governance
- 5Optimize pipeline performance and cost through cluster tuning and workload management
- 6Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to align on data architecture standards
- 7Ensure data security and compliance through Unity Catalog access controls
- 8Build reusable frameworks and templates for pipeline development on Databricks
Requirements8
- 15+ years architecting data solutions on cloud platforms, including AWS
- 23+ years hands-on with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog
- 3Experience migrating from AWS EMR and Apache NiFi to the Databricks Lakehouse
- 4Strong proficiency in Spark and SQL for data processing
- 5Knowledge of streaming and CDC patterns using tools like Kafka or Debezium
- 6Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks (e.g., RBAC, HIPAA)
- 7Proven track record leading data platform modernization projects
- 8Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
