Data Scientist, Optimization & Gurobi
Overview
You will design and build optimization models for complex supply chain problems in the automotive domain, using Gurobi and AWS. You will work with large-scale operational data to improve planning, logistics, inventory, production, and network efficiency. 4 days on site in Dallas, TX, collaborating with a team of engineers and data scientists. This role stands out for its focus on production-ready cloud deployments and direct impact on operational decisions.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and implement Gurobi-based optimization models to solve complex supply chain problems in the automotive sector.
- 2Build scalable data pipelines on AWS to ingest and process large-scale operational data.
- 3Deploy optimization solutions as microservices using Docker and Kubernetes on AWS.
- 4Develop and maintain Python code for model development, testing, and integration.
- 5Collaborate with business stakeholders to define optimization objectives and constraints for planning, logistics, inventory, and production.
- 6Monitor and tune model performance in production, ensuring reliability and speed.
- 7Document modeling approaches and technical design for handoff to operations teams.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of experience in data science, operations research, or related field.
- 2Strong experience with Gurobi or similar optimization solvers (e.g., CPLEX, Xpress).
- 3Proficiency in Python for scripting and model development.
- 4Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, and SageMaker.
- 5Experience deploying applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- 6Solid understanding of supply chain concepts in automotive manufacturing (planning, logistics, inventory).
- 7Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
