Data Scientist Mid - Python, PySpark, Databricks
Overview
You'll own Python and PySpark analytics for the DoD's Cyber Risk Management mission. You'll turn fragmented data into actionable intelligence, building ETL pipelines and mentoring junior analysts. On this team, you'll navigate ambiguity, draft data sharing agreements, and deliver insights that shape national security decisions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build automated ETL pipelines with Python and PySpark to ingest and transform data from API integrations.
- 2Structure unstructured reports and documents into analysis-ready datasets using SQL and Databricks.
- 3Lead development of machine learning models to identify cyber threats and operational patterns.
- 4Draft data sharing agreements and documentation, including DSAs and data memorandums, to enable future analytics.
- 5Design clear use cases that reflect operational needs and guide client decision-making.
- 6Mentor junior analysts in Python and data engineering best practices.
- 7Communicate complex technical findings to executive stakeholders and military leadership.
- 8Drive projects forward independently, navigating ambiguity and proactively gathering information.
Requirements9
- 15+ years experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Databricks.
- 24+ years experience in data engineering and analytics.
- 34+ years experience delivering actionable insights and performance metrics.
- 4Experience building and maintaining automated ETL pipelines leveraging API integrations.
- 5Experience extracting and structuring information from unstructured sources like reports and documents.
- 6Experience mentoring junior analysts.
- 7Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- 8TS/SCI clearance.
- 9Bachelor's degree.
