Data Platform Engineer - Sradha Technologies
Overview
You will design and build the developer experience for the Unity Platform, enabling engineers to ship data pipelines faster. You own the tooling, frameworks, and APIs that simplify adoption of Kubernetes, Airflow, and Spark. You bridge platform engineering and application teams, ensuring automation and governance. This role stands out by directly shaping how hundreds of engineers interact with data infrastructure daily.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build self-service APIs and CLI tools that automate pipeline provisioning on Kubernetes and Airflow.
- 2Design and ship a unified developer portal with docs, templates, and examples for Spark and SQL.
- 3Drive adoption by creating on-boarding guides and interactive demos for new platform features.
- 4Own the CI/CD pipeline for platform components, using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- 5Debug and resolve issues in pipeline execution, reducing mean time to recovery.
- 6Scale the platform's observability stack by integrating Prometheus and Grafana dashboards.
- 7Collaborate with data engineers to capture pain points and iterate on solutions.
- 8Implement security controls by embedding Vault secrets and RBAC policies into tooling.
Requirements9
- 15+ years building data platforms or developer tools with Python and Go.
- 23+ years hands-on with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- 32+ years using Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- 41+ year with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- 51+ year working with Spark or Flink for large-scale data processing.
- 6Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation.
- 7Familiarity with REST API design and OpenAPI specifications.
- 8Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- 9Knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts.
