Data Architect, Azure Data Engineering & Lakehouse
Overview
Owns data architecture for large-scale lakehouse environments across Microsoft's Fabric and Azure stack. Lead design and implementation of data pipelines, data lake patterns, and orchestration to support analytics and reporting at enterprise scale. Work closely with data engineers, cloud architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data products on a day-one onsite model. This role stands out by combining hands-on engineering with architectural leadership and deep Azure data services knowledge.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build data pipelines and lakehouse architectures using Azure Data Factory and Databricks to enable reliable data ingestion and processing
- 2Design data lake patterns and governance for lakehouse environments leveraging OneLake and Azure services
- 3Lead ETL/ELT strategy and orchestration across data platforms to ensure consistency, quality, and observability
- 4Collaborate with analytics teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models using PySpark and Spark SQL
- 5Develop and optimize data pipelines with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Requirements6
- 18+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering
- 2Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Engineering stack including OneLake, Databricks and Azure Data Factory
- 3Deep knowledge of Data Lake architecture design patterns and modern ETL/ELT frameworks
- 4Proficiency in PySpark / Spark SQL / advanced SQL
- 5Experience with data lake governance, security, and data quality practices
- 6Onsite from Day 1 in Edison, NJ/CT/NY with ability to collaborate across teams
