Data Analytics Associate, Healthcare Operations
Overview
You will own insights generation for a major business unit at Oscar Health, partnering with senior managers to drive data-informed decisions. You'll use SQL to extract and analyze large datasets, build robust data models, and create dashboards in Looker to track financial and utilization metrics. You'll collaborate across the organization, presenting findings to leadership and identifying opportunities to reduce healthcare inefficiencies. This role offers the chance to work with Python or R and dbt in a hybrid schedule based in New York City.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own the end-to-end analytical process for a major business unit, from scoping to delivery, serving as the primary point of contact for senior managers and associate directors.
- 2Build SQL queries to filter, aggregate, and create CTEs for large datasets, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
- 3Develop and maintain dashboards in Looker and Google Sheets to monitor key performance indicators and support business decisions.
- 4Create data models and tools to identify healthcare inefficiencies, using Python or R when applicable.
- 5Present analytical findings to leadership, packaging complex data into clear, compelling stories for non-technical audiences.
- 6Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for dashboard enhancements and new analytical solutions.
- 7Drive improvements in member experience by analyzing quality of care, risk adjustment, and population health metrics.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports.
- 22+ years of experience working with large datasets and distilling insights with a structured thought process.
- 35+ examples of presenting analysis to leadership (Director+), demonstrating strong communication skills.
- 42+ years of experience in SQL, including filtering, aggregating, and building CTEs.
- 52+ years building robust data models.
- 61+ years of proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel, using VLookup, nested if statements, and connected Sheets.
- 71+ years of experience developing dashboards with Looker or other BI tools.
- 8Bonus: Experience with Python or R, healthcare/insurance domain knowledge, dbt, Looker Studio Pro, or Git workflows.
