Cybersecurity Engineer - Sealing Technologies
Overview
Sealing Technologies seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to lead vulnerability management and detection tuning for a DoD program. This role drives protection of mission critical systems through hardening and incident response. The ideal candidate will own security operations and mentor junior engineers.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead vulnerability management activities across the program platform including scan scheduling and remediation tracking
- 2Develop and tune SIEM rules and alerts to improve detection fidelity
- 3Conduct incident triage and root cause analysis while escalating appropriately
- 4Apply STIGs and security baselines across Windows Linux and network platforms
- 5Perform vulnerability assessments using Nessus Tenable or ACAS and track remediation
- 6Analyze network traffic and logs to identify anomalies and potential threats
- 7Collaborate with DCO tools and defensive sensors to configure deployments and tuning
- 8Support RMF authorization workflows and contribute to ATO sustainment documentation
- 9Create automation scripts in Python Bash or PowerShell to streamline security operations
- 10Mentor junior security engineers on detection engineering and incident handling
- 11Provide technical input for program proposals and security assessments
Requirements11
- 1U.S. Citizenship required
- 2Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity Computer Science or related field
- 35+ years operational cybersecurity experience supporting DoD or federal programs
- 4Proficiency with SIEM platforms Splunk Elastic Zeek or similar
- 5Experience with vulnerability assessment tools Nessus Tenable or ACAS
- 6Knowledge of STIG implementation across Windows Linux environments
- 7Background in incident triage log analysis and packet capture analysis
- 8Scripting skills in Python Bash or PowerShell for security automation
- 9Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and threat intelligence frameworks
- 10DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within six months
- 11Active Secret clearance or willingness to acquire
