Customer Quality Engineer - Sika
Overview
Sika seeks an experienced Customer Quality Engineer in Grandview to enhance injection mold production efficiency. This role ensures quality through process design and direct production support while acting as the primary customer liaison. The engineer will lead issue resolution, gather data on PPM and costs, fulfill PPAP requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include coordinating quarantine actions, supporting APQP and AQP initiatives, and driving continuous improvement projects. What You'll Do11
- 1Own and close customer quality issues using 8Ds 5Ps DWDP and 5-Whys frameworks
- 2Maintain daily quality metrics including PPM and cost targets at plant and customer levels
- 3Fulfill all new parts submission requirements including PPAP documentation
- 4Provide on-site problem resolution and coordinate quarantine actions at customer locations
- 5Lead APQP and AQP initiatives for new product launches and process changes
- 6Collaborate with Launch Department to ensure alignment with product development goals
- 7Develop communication strategies for customer performance reporting
- 8Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and increase efficiency
- 9Lead Customer Quality Award programs and recognize outstanding performance
- 10Coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality-related challenges
- 11Implement solutions that decrease waste and improve manufacturing outcomes
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years experience in quality assurance
- 2Solid understanding of quality principles audit protocols inspection procedures and PPAP standards
- 3Proven experience with continuous improvement tools and processes across functional areas
- 4Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with data analysis software
- 5Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- 6Experience with advanced quality planning methodologies
- 7Commitment to safety and compliance in a regulated manufacturing setting
- 8Ability to travel and work onsite at customer locations
- 9Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- 10Experience with digital collaboration platforms and project management tools
