Corporate Paralegal, FERC & Energy Industry
Overview
You will own the preparation and filing of FERC tariff documents and service agreements for a major utility. You will manage eTariff databases, coordinate compliance across internal teams, and support litigation. This hybrid role offers direct exposure to regulatory proceedings at state and federal levels. You will work with PJM standards and FERC regulations daily. This contract position with Yoh places you inside one of the region's largest utility companies.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare and file FERC tariff documents and supporting materials for regulatory compliance.
- 2Manage the administration and maintenance of service agreements, tracking effective and expiration dates.
- 3Review pro forma documents for conformity with PJM standards and draft non-conformity filings.
- 4Oversee the eTariff database, granting access levels and ensuring daily coverage.
- 5Conduct legal and factual research to support litigation and regulatory proceedings.
- 6Coordinate assignments and workflow for attorneys, acting as a liaison with internal and external parties.
- 7Assist counsel in drafting FERC filing letters by organizing relevant agreement and tariff sections.
- 8Facilitate compliance matters by preparing final documents and overseeing service requirements.
Requirements6
- 12+ years of paralegal experience in a corporate legal department, government agency, or utility company.
- 2Paralegal certificate or 4+ years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- 3In-depth knowledge of FERC regulations and tariff filing procedures.
- 4Experience with regulatory compliance in an energy or electricity-focused environment.
- 5Ability to manage multiple filings and deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
- 6Proficiency with eTariff software or similar regulatory databases.
