Overview

You will lead enterprise-wide care management, utilization management, CDI, and ambulatory nursing across 20+ hospitals and clinics. Reporting to the System Chief Nursing Officer, you partner with clinical, financial, and administrative leaders to standardize practice, drive data-informed outcomes, and elevate nursing care. This role transforms site-based models into a unified system, integrating virtual care and remote monitoring. You own the strategy, performance metrics, and technology adoption that shape pediatric specialty care.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build a system-wide strategy for care management, utilization management, CDI, and ambulatory nursing, aligning with regulatory and payer requirements.
  • 2Standardize workflows and role definitions for RNs and Care Managers across inpatient, ambulatory, and transitional settings, ensuring top-of-license practice.
  • 3Drive utilization management programs system-wide, reducing length of stay and optimizing resource use.
  • 4Design an enterprise performance framework with metrics for readmissions, LOS, utilization, productivity, denials, and patient experience.
  • 5Lead initiatives to reduce variation and improve outcomes, using lean processes and multidisciplinary teams.
  • 6Evaluate and contract vendor software, leading implementations and system integrations, including EPIC and other EMR tools.
  • 7Integrate innovative care models like virtual care and remote monitoring to enhance coordination and access.
  • 8Leverage data analytics to inform staffing models, capacity planning, and care model redesign.
  • 9Develop competency frameworks and promote professional certification for care management and nursing teams.
  • 10Mentor local leaders and collaborate with HR on staffing and performance improvement.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years nursing leadership experience.
  • 2Active RN License.
  • 3Certification in Case Management (e.g., CCM, ACM, ANCC, GMAC, or ABQAURP HCQM) or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • 4BSN required.
  • 52+ years clinical experience in pediatrics preferred.
  • 62+ years senior nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • 7MSN or Master's in Healthcare preferred.
  • 8Experience with EPIC or other EMR systems preferred.
  • 9Expertise in data analytics and performance improvement methodologies.
