Overview

You will own HAC's corporate communications and storytelling, shaping the voice of rural America across policy, fundraising, and thought leadership. Reporting to the Development Director and partnering with the public policy team, you will craft content that amplifies HAC's impact and positions the organization as a leading national voice. You will manage social media, website updates, and CMS publishing across platforms, while supporting email campaigns via Dynamics 365. This hybrid role in Washington, DC offers a chance to drive meaningful change in rural communities.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Build and execute a communications strategy that amplifies HAC's brand as a national leader with deep rural ties.
  • 2Create outreach content including blog posts, articles, presentations, speeches, talking points, donor appeals, op-eds, videos, and success stories for web and social.
  • 3Identify and develop content supporting HAC's policy priorities and programs, partnering with leadership and staff.
  • 4Monitor and coordinate visibility opportunities for HAC leadership, such as speaking engagements and op-eds.
  • 5Drive email campaigns using Dynamics 365 Real-Time Journeys to engage donors and stakeholders.
  • 6Strengthen internal and external communications plans, ensuring consistent messaging.
  • 7Support fundraising and advocacy activities with compelling narratives and materials.

Requirements9

  • 1Associates degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 25+ years of professional communications experience or equivalent.
  • 3Strong grasp of communications principles, channels (including social media), and fundraising or policy contexts.
  • 4Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5Advanced Office 365 skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • 6Unwavering attention to detail and ownership of work.
  • 7Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under moderate supervision.
  • 8Capacity to work independently or in a team environment.
  • 9Positive, outgoing disposition with a sense of humor and a can-do spirit.
