Commercial Restaurant Cleaner, Sanitation
Overview
You will own nightly sanitation for 2-3 restaurant sites across Boston, ensuring kitchens, dining areas, and restrooms meet health code standards. You report to the facilities lead and coordinate with a 4-person crew to cover high-traffic shifts. OSHA-compliant chemical handling and floor machine operation are core to this role. This contract position pays $20-$25 per hour and offers steady hours with the potential for full-time conversion.
What You'll Do8
- 1Strip and refinish floors using buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums across dining and kitchen zones
- 2Sanitize food-contact surfaces with EPA-registered disinfectants, following OSHA dilution and dwell time protocols
- 3Disassemble and clean grease traps and hood filters in commercial kitchens
- 4Set up and break down dining areas for opening, peak service, and closing
- 5Log chemical usage and equipment condition in a daily digital checklist
- 6Spot-clean walls, windows, and baseboards to maintain a polished storefront
- 7Coordinate with kitchen staff to schedule deep-cleaning of hard-to-reach equipment
- 8Inspect restrooms twice per shift for soap, paper, and surface disinfection
Requirements7
- 11+ year in commercial or restaurant cleaning, with references
- 2Proven safe handling of bleach, degreasers, and quats per SDS
- 3Operational knowledge of electric buffers and automatic scrubbers
- 4Able to lift 50+ pounds and stand for full shifts
- 5ServSafe certification or completion of OSHA hazard communication training
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transport between job sites
- 7Willing to work evening and weekend rotations
