Overview

Support commercial loan officers in servicing all banking needs of commercial and consumer customers. Handle loan documentation, customer inquiries, and daily operational tasks. Collaborate with a team of loan officers, credit managers, attorneys, and title companies. This role offers direct exposure to commercial, consumer, and real estate loan processes, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency is key, along with knowledge of lending regulations like the UCC and RESPA.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Respond to customer inquiries on account transactions, Money Market rates, loan status, and new account requirements.
  • 2Gather data and prepare loan worksheet approvals for new and renewed loans, ensuring officer approval.
  • 3Prepare attorney real estate loan instructions, order title commitments or lien searches, and manage flood letters and appraisal orders.
  • 4Review insufficient funds reports daily, contact customers, and arrange transfers or loan advances to cover accounts.
  • 5Process loan advances and paydowns at customer request, and handle wire transfers, stop payments, and account transfers.
  • 6Research and clear loan exceptions, and pull weekly and month-end loan reports for officers.
  • 7Notarize documents and maintain a teamwork environment by delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
  • 8Set personal goals and maintain a professional image that positively represents Plains State Bank.

Requirements10

  • 11-3 years in commercial lending or banking operations, with experience in loan documentation.
  • 2Intermediate or better knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • 3Thorough knowledge of commercial, consumer, and real estate loan documentation, including security interest perfection.
  • 4Extensive loan closing knowledge across commercial loans, commercial real estate, single-family real estate, letters of credit, and consumer loans.
  • 5Working knowledge of lending regulations: UCC, HMDA, Truth in Lending, ECOA, CRA, and RESPA.
  • 6High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with loan officers, credit managers, attorneys, and title companies.
  • 7Ability to read and interpret corporate and personal tax returns, loan docs, appraisals, environmental reports, and policy manuals.
  • 8Math skills to calculate ratios, interest, amortization, and loan payments.
  • 9Strong problem-solving skills to handle concrete variables in limited standardization scenarios.
  • 10Notary public certification is preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
