Overview
You will own glass installation for windows, doors, and storefronts across commercial construction projects in Houston. You will lead a glazing team on-site, handling fabrication and installation of storefront, curtain wall, and aluminum doors. You will work directly from schematics and construction plans, collaborating with construction crews to deliver precise, code-compliant installations. This role offers the chance to apply your fabrication expertise on diverse projects, with pay from $25 to $30 per hour.
What You'll Do7
- 1Measure and install glass for windows, doors, and structural openings, ensuring accurate fit and alignment.
- 2Fabricate and install storefront systems, curtain wall, and aluminum doors per project specs.
- 3Read and interpret schematics and construction plans to execute precise installations.
- 4Operate power tools and equipment for cutting, fitting, and assembling aluminum frames and glass.
- 5Lead a team of glaziers on-site, assigning tasks and ensuring quality workmanship.
- 6Install door hardware including panic devices, closers, and related components.
- 7Coordinate with construction teams to sequence glazing work and meet project milestones.
Requirements8
- 15+ years proven experience as a commercial glazier.
- 2Hands-on experience with storefront, curtain wall, and aluminum doors.
- 3Proficiency in fabrication, installation, and glazing techniques.
- 4Experience installing door hardware such as panic devices, closers, and locks.
- 5Ability to read construction plans and schematics accurately.
- 6Skill with power tools used in storefront installation (e.g., miter saws, drills, glass cutters).
- 7Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- 8Capacity to work independently and lead a team when needed.
