Collections Manager, Value-Based Care Billing
Overview
You will lead collections for a portfolio of specialty care clients, ensuring strong financial performance and client satisfaction. Oversee a team of Collection Representatives, drive revenue cycle performance, and shape processes in a growing value-based care environment. Leverage 5+ years of collections expertise and 3+ years in management to optimize billing and collections. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret payer contracts and analyze reimbursement trends. Direct complex collections, improve efficiency, and deliver providers the reimbursement they have earned.
What You'll Do10
- 1Direct resolution of technical or workflow issues causing revenue cycle deficiencies in collections and provider inquiries.
- 2Complete daily collection and billing KPIs audits to maintain updated performance knowledge.
- 3Own all collection, billing, and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- 4Monitor employee progress during orientation to achieve competencies and goals.
- 5Complete annual employee reviews, including 45-day and 90-day orientation interim evaluations.
- 6Identify, prioritize, and implement improved processes to increase department efficiency and effectiveness.
- 7Collaborate with other departments on quality and efficiency initiatives.
- 8Assist with developing and revising VBC policy and procedures as needed.
- 9Ensure adequate controls for sustainable account resolution as volume grows rapidly.
- 10Manage hiring, training, and development of the team to ensure efficient operations and policy adherence.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of related experience in collections and prior authorization.
- 23+ years of management experience overseeing collections, billing, or revenue cycle management.
- 3Knowledge of revenue cycle management for specialty groups, preferably Maternity, Ortho, or Cardiovascular.
- 4Significant experience making and implementing impactful decisions in complex environments.
- 5Ability to analyze, evaluate, and develop solutions strategically, logically, and realistically.
- 6Strong leadership abilities, perceived as confident, empathetic, and authentic.
- 7Effective negotiation skills with external and internal stakeholders.
- 8Bachelor's in healthcare, business, or a related field; Master's in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- 9Thorough knowledge of industry best practices for bundles and claims.
- 10Extensive familiarity with value-based care operations, including bundled payments.
