CNC Press Brake Programmer, Delem Controls Specialist
Overview
You will own the full press brake and shear workflow at a modern fabrication shop in Indian Trail, NC. Program Delem controls directly at the KAAST machine, turning blueprints into precise bend sequences. You'll join a collaborative team of fabricators, estimators, and project managers, mentoring junior operators and driving process improvements. This role offers a 90-day performance review with potential pay increase, health benefits, and long-term growth.
What You'll Do8
- 1Program and operate KAAST CNC press brakes using Delem, Delem 51T, or Dellum controls, translating blueprints into bend sequences.
- 2Run CNC shear operations to prepare material to spec before forming.
- 3Dial in crowning and deflection compensation, fine-tune parameters, and troubleshoot machine and tooling issues in real time.
- 4Select tooling, calculate bend allowances, and set machine inputs such as material type, thickness, dimensions, angles, and leg sizes.
- 5Inspect finished parts to verify dimensional and quality requirements, keeping scrap low and quality high.
- 6Perform preventive maintenance checks and handle/stage materials safely throughout fabrication.
- 7Collaborate with project managers and estimators to hit accuracy and throughput targets, developing best practices for continuous improvement.
- 8Mentor and train junior operators, serving as the go-to expert on Delem-controlled brake systems.
Requirements8
- 13+ years in CNC press brake setup, programming, and operation.
- 2Proven experience programming at the controller using Delem, Delem 51T, or Dellum controls.
- 3Operational experience with both CNC press brakes and shears.
- 4Deep knowledge of tooling selection, bend calculations, and forming processes.
- 5Ability to independently diagnose issues and make machine adjustments, with working knowledge of calibration, crowning, and deflection compensation.
- 6Fluency in reading blueprints and fabrication drawings, plus strong fabrication math and precise measurement skills.
- 7Self-directed work style with high attention to detail and quality.
- 8Preferred: experience with KAAST machinery, aluminum or architectural metals, broader CNC programming, lean manufacturing, forklift operation, or bilingual (English/Spanish).
