CNC Milling Machine Operator, Aerospace & Defense
Overview
You will operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components for aerospace and defense programs. You will run multi-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers, read engineering drawings, and inspect parts with precision tools. What You'll Do7
- 1Operate CNC milling equipment including multi-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- 2Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications to produce quality components.
- 3Interpret GD&T requirements and ensure parts meet dimensional specifications.
- 4Use calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges for in-process inspections.
- 5Calculate shop math, geometry, and trigonometry for machining operations.
- 6Load and secure tooling, fixtures, vises, pallets, and workholding devices to prepare machines for production.
- 7Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
Requirements7
- 12+ years operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- 3Working knowledge of inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- 4Strong math skills including shop math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- 5Experience with aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum is preferred.
- 6Familiarity with 5-axis machining centers is preferred.
- 7Exposure to Makino or similar high-speed platforms is a plus.
