Clinical Transporter
Overview
The Clinical Transporter will own patient transport operations at the University of Maryland Medical System. This role involves moving patients of varying weights ages sizes to beds and ambulatory devices while adhering to proper body mechanics. What You'll Do11
- 1Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current patient transport practice
- 2Transports patients according to priority adapting to changing needs
- 3Verifies correct patient identification using approved hospital patient identifiers
- 4Ensures patient and medical records are taken returned to proper location
- 5Utilizes transport tracking software accurately and timely
- 6Maintains stocks and safely stores oxygen tanks
- 7Rounds throughout hospital each shift collecting equipment and relocating to appropriate locations
- 8Identifies and tags defective equipment per policy to assure patient safety
- 9Assures Environment of Care is maintained by ensuring cleanliness of patient care areas
- 10Rounds throughout units maintaining hallway safety and assuring cleanliness
- 11Drives initiatives to improve transport efficiency and patient outcomes
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading cross‑functional teams
- 3High school diploma or GED
- 4Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- 5Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred
- 6Effectively convey verbal and written information
- 7Follow directions precisely
- 8Organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities
- 9Respond to emergency situations appropriately
- 10Function as a collaborative team member
- 11Maintain patient confidentiality
