Overview

You will own operational leadership for the pediatric clinical research portfolio at MD Anderson Cancer Center, a top-tier academic medical center. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build operational plans that support the growth and performance of the pediatric research program.
  • 2Launch a performance dashboard to monitor KPIs like trial activation timelines, patient accrual, and quality metrics.
  • 3Lead initiatives to accelerate study activation and patient enrollment across the portfolio.
  • 4Partner with investigators and external stakeholders to promote clinical trial development and research excellence.
  • 5Streamline research operations by implementing standardized processes and policies.
  • 6Oversee the execution of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with GCP, sponsor requirements, and regulations.
  • 7Manage staffing models and resource allocation to match portfolio demands.
  • 8Recruit, mentor, and develop clinical research staff, creating training and cross-training programs.
  • 9Champion quality by preparing teams for audits, implementing CAPAs, and reviewing quality metrics.
  • 10Serve as the operational liaison with Texas Children's Hospital to align collaborative research priorities.

Requirements9

  • 16 years of extensive research administrative experience in a biotechnology or academic setting, including 2 years with research protocols, grants, and contracts.
  • 22 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • 3Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, Nursing, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 4Experience managing pediatric oncology research trials is strongly preferred.
  • 5Progressive leadership experience in clinical research operations, preferably in an academic medical center.
  • 6Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive operational improvements.
  • 7Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking for complex research operations.
  • 8Experience developing dashboards and performance metrics for data-driven decisions.
  • 9Knowledge of GCP, federal and state regulations, and institutional policies.
