Overview

You will own clinical care and daily operations for a modern medical weight loss clinic combining GLP-1 treatment with nutrition, exercise, and coaching. You will split time between patient intakes, education, check-ins, and side-effect management, while also overseeing clinic flow, supporting admin staff, and keeping schedules and inventory ready. You will work directly with providers, coaches, and admin to deliver safe, compliant care in a calm, organized environment. This role stands out because you will be the clinical backbone and operational anchor of a clinic that tracks long-term outcomes, not just short-term results.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Complete clinical intakes for new patients including vitals, history, medication lists, and contraindication screening using clinic protocols.
  • 2Educate patients on GLP-1 medications: mechanism, injection technique, expected course, red-flag symptoms, and when to call.
  • 3Conduct telehealth and in-person check-ins for weight and symptom review, side-effect monitoring, adherence, and basic mental and physical status.
  • 4Triage patient messages about side effects, dose questions, and concerns; escalate to NP/MD per protocol.
  • 5Follow standardized dosing and titration protocols within scope, never operating outside license or clinic policies.
  • 6Document all encounters in the EMR or telehealth platform using clinic templates, keeping notes accurate and timely.
  • 7Collaborate with the coaching team to flag patients losing lean mass too quickly, under-fueling, or struggling with adherence.
  • 8Lead daily huddles, review schedules, and ensure rooms, staff, and equipment are ready for the day.
  • 9Look ahead 7 to 14 days to identify and fix scheduling or coverage issues before they become problems.
  • 10Handle patient rescues: reach out to those who want to quit, understand their concerns, and offer options within clinic policy.
  • 11Cover front-of-house admin tasks when needed and support clinical visits when other staff are out, within license.

Requirements8

  • 1Active LPN or RN license in good standing in Virginia.
  • 22+ years of clinical experience in primary care, internal medicine, bariatrics, endocrinology, or similar.
  • 3Prior experience in an outpatient clinic, telehealth, or small practice environment.
  • 4Comfortable educating patients about injectable medications and lifestyle changes in clear, non-judgmental language.
  • 5Strong documentation habits; you like protocols, checklists, and closing loops.
  • 6Demonstrated ability to help run a day: managing schedules, answering staff questions, and handling escalations.
  • 7Team mindset: you like working with providers, coaches, and admin to solve problems together.
  • 8Preferred: Experience in a GLP-1 clinical setting, nutrition knowledge, peptide knowledge, or bilingual (Spanish).
