Overview
Own nutritional care for a caseload of Veterans with complex medical needs at VA Boston Healthcare System in Brockton, MA. Integrate with physicians, nurses, and dietetic interns to deliver evidence-based interventions. Work in a multidisciplinary team supported by NFS directives and VA policies. What You'll Do8
- 1Build nutrition care plans for Veterans with acute and chronic conditions using NCP.
- 2Diagnose nutrition problems from physical signs, lab data, and medication interactions.
- 3Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and dietetic interns to implement patient-centered goals.
- 4Analyze intake and nutrient losses to adjust interventions and improve outcomes.
- 5Evaluate research and apply evidence-based practices to complex cases.
- 6Direct food service operations, including menu planning and purchasing, to meet budget and patient satisfaction.
- 7Mentor dietetic interns and support staff on clinical best practices.
- 8Document assessments and interventions in the electronic health record within 90 days.
Requirements8
- 1U.S. Citizenship and English proficiency.
- 2Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from CDR.
- 3Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-accredited program.
- 41+ year of experience at GS-09 level for GS-11.
- 5Skill in using virtual technology for nutrition care.
- 6Ability to analyze data for performance improvement studies.
- 7Skill in interpreting research to apply evidence-based practices.
- 8Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory requirements.
