Clinical Data Specialist 2, DaVinci AI Data Collection
Overview
Own motion data collection on the DaVinci system for Multiport AI Research, directly supporting engineering operations at Intuitive. You will manage end-to-end data capture, quality checks, and organization, working alongside surgeons and engineers. This role drives data-driven decisions in a clinical research setting, with direct impact on next-generation surgical robotics. You will also assist in building and maintaining data pipelines that feed AI model training.
What You'll Do8
- 1Collect and document motion data on DaVinci surgical systems during scheduled research sessions.
- 2Coordinate with engineering teams to align data collection with AI model requirements.
- 3Audit captured data for completeness and accuracy, correcting gaps in real time.
- 4Organize and label datasets using Excel and Python scripts for efficient retrieval.
- 5Operate and calibrate DaVinci consoles and instruments per protocol.
- 6Troubleshoot data collection issues, escalating hardware or software errors to Intuitive engineers.
- 7Maintain detailed logs of data collection workflows and ensure version control.
- 8Support onboarding of new team members on data collection procedures.
Requirements8
- 12+ years in clinical data collection or health technology research.
- 2Hands-on experience with DaVinci surgical systems or similar robotic platforms.
- 3Proficiency in Python and Excel for data manipulation and logging.
- 41+ years working with IRB protocols and patient data privacy, including HIPAA.
- 5Ability to lift and position equipment up to 25 lbs during data sessions.
- 6Flexibility for variable hours, including evenings, to align with clinical rotations.
- 7Bachelor's degree in a biological or technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8Detail-oriented with a track record of following strict documentation standards.

$52 - $100k per year
