Overview

Own full-cycle hearing healthcare delivery for a surgical otolaryngology practice in NYC, managing 40+ patient cases weekly from diagnostic testing through hearing aid fittings. You report to an MD/FACS surgeon and collaborate with 2 otolaryngologists and a care coordinator. This contract role stands apart by offering $65-$75/hour, flexible scheduling, and exposure to cochlear implant and vestibular programs.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Deliver 40+ comprehensive hearing assessments per week, integrating audiometry, tympanometry, and OAEs to diagnose hearing loss and balance disorders.
  • 2Perform vestibular testing and cochlear implant evaluations for complex pediatric and adult cases, coordinating with the surgical team.
  • 3Fit, program, and fine-tune hearing aids and assistive devices using NOAH and Audioscan software, achieving a 95% patient satisfaction target.
  • 4Manage patient care from first consult through follow-up, adjusting treatment plans based on real-world outcomes and patient feedback.
  • 5Collaborate with lead otolaryngologists to design integrated treatment protocols, including pre- and post-implant rehabilitation.
  • 6Document every interaction in EMR/EHR systems, maintaining 100% compliance with billing and clinical record standards.
  • 7Educate patients on device maintenance and communication strategies, tailoring explanations to different ages and cognitive levels.

Requirements7

  • 12+ years of clinical audiology experience in a medical setting, with AuD or MA in audiology.
  • 2Active state license in audiology, with CCC-A or ABA certification preferred.
  • 3Hands-on proficiency in hearing assessment and diagnostic evaluation, including pure-tone, speech, and immittance testing.
  • 4Demonstrated skill in hearing aid fitting and programming using NOAH or Audioscan platforms.
  • 51+ year of vestibular testing experience, including VNG and rotational chair.
  • 6Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and scheduling.
  • 7Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex audiological concepts to patients of all ages.
