As a Child Welfare Case Manager, you will own the full case management cycle for children and families in Tampa, ensuring safety and permanency within mandated timelines. You will use Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) to document every interaction and coordinate with courts, providers, and families. What You'll Do10

  • 1Meet children in their primary residence within 2 working days of ITR staffing and complete Family Assessments within 15 working days.
  • 2Develop case plans collaboratively with parents, Guardian Ad Litem, and foster parents, using the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessment to address strengths and needs.
  • 3Conduct home visits at least every 25 days, including quarterly unannounced visits to ensure child safety.
  • 4Document all case activities in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) within 48 hours and maintain electronic case files per standardized guidelines.
  • 5Submit service requests to the lead agency and provide clients with timely referrals to community resources.
  • 6Prepare and submit court documentation within required time frames and attend all court activities.
  • 7Conduct safety assessments, develop safety plans, and arrange emergency placement or medical treatment for at-risk children.
  • 8Complete diligent searches for absent parents and document efforts thoroughly.
  • 9Plan and facilitate parental and sibling visits, and transport children as needed.
  • 10Perform on-call duties as scheduled and maintain availability via cell phone during work and on-call hours.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field; Social Work degree preferred.
  • 21+ years of relevant experience working with children.
  • 3Ability to obtain Child Welfare Certification within one year of hire.
  • 4Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance with $10,000/$20,000 coverage.
  • 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and typing 45 WPM.
  • 6Familiarity with FSFN database preferred.
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 8Flexibility to work irregular hours, rotate on-call, and travel locally and statewide.
