Chest Pain Coordinator RN - AdventHealth Tampa | GWTG & SCPC
Overview
You will own chest pain registry data abstraction and program compliance for AdventHealth Tampa, driving AHA-GWTG and SCPC accreditation standards across a multi-specialty team. You will coach providers on documentation, lead quarterly Chest Pain meetings, and develop policies that align with The Joint Commission certification. Your work directly improves STEMI Door-to-Balloon times and patient outcomes. This role combines clinical expertise with quality leadership, requiring RN licensure and acute care experience.
What You'll Do10
- 1Abstract clinical data from AHA-GWTG and SCPC registries for all required cases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- 2Coach healthcare providers on documentation components necessary for Chest Pain Center compliance.
- 3Coordinate and host quarterly multi-specialty Chest Pain team meetings, formulating agendas and tracking follow-up actions.
- 4Develop educational programs for Nursing Services and ancillary departments on best practices in Chest Pain Center standards.
- 5Collaborate with Marketing and CME Coordinator to design community education programs that enhance program quality.
- 6Interpret SCPC accreditation standards and draft policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance.
- 7Recommend The Joint Commission Chest Pain DSC certification changes to the medical director for approval.
- 8Monitor STEMI Door-to-Balloon operations, reviewing documentation, staff responsiveness, and patient flow.
- 9Provide follow-up with post-STEMI patients, including chart abstraction and feedback to EMS providers.
- 10Maintain clinical competencies and deliver direct patient care as directed by hospital leadership.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's of Nursing required, Master's preferred in Nursing Science or related healthcare discipline.
- 2Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- 3Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- 4Skilled in critical care nursing with emergency or catheterization lab experience required.
- 5Basic cardiovascular rhythm recognition and cardiopulmonary monitoring assessment required.
- 6Advanced knowledge of Hypothermia Therapy, equipment setup, and application required.
- 7Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostics and imaging techniques required.
- 8Highly organized in compiling clinical data for multi-specialty physician presentations required.
- 9Advanced knowledge of indicators and criteria for Chest Pain Center accreditation data entry required.
- 10Experience caring for patients with ICD and LVAD devices preferred; proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint presentation design preferred.
