What You'll Do10
- 1Prepare sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization
- 2Assist with terminal room cleaning and preparation for next patient
- 3Handle surgical specimens with 100% accuracy
- 4Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately
- 5Check supplies and obtain scrubs gowns and gloves for procedures
- 6Set up sterile tables with instruments and medications
- 7Perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to incision closure
- 8Gown and glove the surgeon and assistants
- 9Assist in draping the sterile field and pass instruments to surgeons
- 10Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures
Requirements11
- 1Minimum of three years scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service
- 2Proven specialization in one or more surgical areas
- 3Demonstrated proficiency in laser skills and surgical instrumentation
- 4Valid CPR certification and Certified Surgical Technologist credential
- 5Physical ability to lift and move patients as needed
- 6Strong interpersonal communication skills
- 7Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia and infection prevention protocols
- 8Familiarity with AIDET and SBAR documentation standards
- 9High school diploma or equivalent
- 10Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- 11Commitment to supporting the holistic healing mission of AdventHealth
