What You'll Do11

  • 4Participate in treatment team meetings and aftercare sessions as needed
  • 5Utilize motivational interviewing to uncover member strengths and triggers
  • 6Bridge physical and behavioral health care systems through resource navigation
  • 7Provide telephonic support for recovery tools and member family communication
  • 8Empower members to self-advocate and maintain treatment commitments
  • 9Travel regionally and document services via electronic health records
  • 10Serve as mentor leveraging personal mental health recovery experience
  • 11Complete Forensic Certified Peer Specialist training within six months of hire

Requirements8

  • 1HS/GED education level with documented mental health challenges and coping mechanisms
  • 2Valid driver's license and automotive insurance with reliable vehicle access
  • 3One year of experience with mental health services preferred
  • 4Familiarity with forensic peer specialist certification process
  • 5Ability to pass background checks including FBI Act 73 and child abuse clearance
  • 6Proficiency with computer software for documentation and billing
  • 7Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse populations
