What You'll Do19

  • 1Prepare examination rooms before patient arrival
  • 2Assist with patient check-ins admissions discharges and transfers
  • 3Check vital signs including temperature respiration pulse weight blood pressure and pulse oximeter readings
  • 4Document patient medical history drug history chief complaints allergies and vital signs
  • 5Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered
  • 6Maintain examination room stock and perform routine maintenance
  • 7Complete lab and x-ray requisitions according to clinic policies
  • 8Enter demographic data and diagnosis information into electronic health records
  • 9Operate medical equipment such as automatic and manual blood pressure monitors handheld nebulizers and EKG machines
  • 10Manage DOD email accounts and respond to messages
  • 11Support clinical team with intake forms medication refills and appointment scheduling
  • 12Administer injections immunizations and nebulizer treatments
  • 13Perform venipuncture and manage IV access
  • 14Monitor patients during procedures and report acute changes
  • 15Coordinate scheduling referrals and follow-up appointments
  • 16Assist with clinic flow and room preparation
  • 17Handle documentation workflows and EHR tasks
  • 18Facilitate communication between patients providers and ancillary services
  • 19Provide patient education and discharge instructions

Requirements5

  • 1Minimum 1-2 years of medical assistant experience in clinical settings
  • 2One year of experience within the last two years as a certified medical assistant
  • 3Current certification as a medical assistant through AAMA or AMT
  • 4Government background check clearance
  • 5Current AHA or ARC BLS certification
