Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), In-Home Care
Overview
As a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) at Right at Home Central New Jersey, you will own daily care for seniors across Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties. You will support aging in place by assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, and daily activities. You will coordinate with nurses and families, reporting patient status and adjusting care as needed. This role offers flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and paid training, with a culture that values caregivers as equals. What You'll Do8
- 1Assist seniors with daily functions, including dressing, bathing, and grooming, within the first 90 days using CHHA protocols.
- 2Perform light housekeeping, including dusting, mopping, and laundry, to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- 3Prepare and cook meals per dietary guidelines, ensuring nutrition and hydration.
- 4Accompany clients to doctor appointments and other meetings, arranging transportation as needed.
- 5Report patient health status changes to supervising nurses, documenting observations accurately.
- 6Teach patients self-care skills to promote independence and confidence.
- 7Follow care plans and instructions from doctors and nurses, responding to minor medical issues and alerting professionals to changes.
- 8Provide companionship and emotional support, treating each client with dignity and respect.
Requirements7
- 1NJ Licensed as a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA).
- 2High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- 32-step PPD test and physical within the last 12 months.
- 4MMR vaccination.
- 5Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
- 6Reliable transportation to travel between client homes.
- 7Trustworthy and dependable, with attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
Salary Insight
