What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver appliances and building materials to residential and commercial sites using Class A or Class B CDL vehicles, completing 20+ stops per route.
- 2Load trucks by pulling merchandise, building and banding pallets, and verifying invoice quantities against item numbers and model specs before departure.
- 3Navigate routes with GPS and iPhone delivery tracking, updating status in real time to meet on-time delivery windows.
- 4Install and test appliances (washer, dryer, refrigerator) at customer locations, connecting gas and electric lines per manufacturer specs.
- 5Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on lift gates and tie-downs, documenting defects in DOT logs to maintain compliance.
- 6Communicate with dispatch and customers via two-way radio and mobile phone, confirming delivery windows and resolving access issues.
- 7Secure loads with ratchet straps and load bars to meet DOT weight distribution rules, adjusting for palletized freight.
- 8Coordinate with store associates to pull special orders and stage deliveries in the dock area, ensuring barcode scans match invoices.
- 9Handle returns by inspecting damaged items, completing RMA paperwork, and reloading rejected products for return to the distribution center.
- 10Flag safety hazards like blocked aisles or faulty equipment to management, following OSHA protocols for forklift and pallet jack operation.
Requirements10
- 1Class A CDL license for multi-unit tractor trailer and flatbed operations, or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement for single-unit tandem flatbed trucks.
- 2Valid DOT medical certificate or ability to obtain one before hire.
- 3Clean MVR screen within company guidelines.
- 41+ year driving a semi-truck or trailer, or certification from an accredited driving school.
- 56+ months performing in-home delivery or retail customer service.
- 63+ months operating a forklift or Moffett to load and unload vehicles.
- 7Ability to pass a background check and drug screening per DOT regulations.
- 8Must be 21 years old to comply with insurance and DOT requirements.
