CDL Delivery Driver, Hazmat & Tanker
Overview
You will own CDL cylinder and bulk deliveries across the Kansas City metro, serving industrial customers with Hazmat materials. You join a team of 800+ employees at American Welding & Gas, a family-owned distributor with 100+ locations. This role demands precision with DOT compliance and physical stamina for 50-100 lb loads. What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver cylinders and bulk gases to customers using a CDL tractor-trailer, hitting daily routes within 90 days.
- 2Load and unload trucks, securing Hazmat loads per DOT regulations.
- 3Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, logging results in electronic trip-logs.
- 4Manage inventory through CGMP and OSHA compliance during each stop.
- 5Complete accurate paperwork for each delivery, including Hazmat placarding.
- 6Maintain a clean vehicle and workspace, reporting issues to dispatch.
- 7Meet delivery targets set by the manager, adjusting routes for efficiency.
- 8Follow DOT hours-of-service rules to stay compliant on every shift.
Requirements8
- 1CDL Class A or B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- 23+ years of commercial driving experience with a clean record.
- 3Pass DOT physical and drug screen, plus company road test.
- 4High school diploma or GED.
- 5Lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly throughout shifts.
- 6Clear verbal and written communication for customer interactions.
- 7Basic computer skills for electronic logs and paperwork.
- 8Customer service focus with a professional demeanor.
