Cashier/Food Service Worker, Part Time
Overview
You will own the guest experience at Longwood Gardens, serving hot and cold items, operating the POS system, and keeping stations spotless. This part-time or full-time role offers $15.00-$17.00 per hour and no prior experience needed, with full training provided.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate the POS system to process cashier duties and maintain cash accuracy with receipts.
- 2Prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts, and assist with catering orders.
- 3Set up serving lines, take and record temperatures, and notify cooks if food temperatures fall outside acceptable ranges.
- 4Serve hot and cold items to customers across all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
- 5Keep the refrigerator stocked and rotate products using the first in, first out rule.
- 6Stock pantries with correct par levels of food items daily and record replenished amounts on floor stock forms.
- 7Perform general cleaning duties, remove trash, and deposit cash at the end of each shift.
- 8Inventory and restock supplies and food products, and set up items for purchase each day.
Requirements7
- 1No previous experience required; willing to train.
- 2Availability for weekends, nights, and holidays, with flexible full-time or part-time schedules.
- 3Ability to use medium-weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, or mandolins.
- 4Ability to use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens or steamtables.
- 5Willingness to wear slip-resistant shoes and follow proper lifting techniques.
- 6Ability to work onsite at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.
- 7Must be able to pass any required background screening, including Florida Level 2 if applicable.
