Overview
You will provide warm, engaging personal care to residents in an assisted living community, ensuring their dignity and comfort. Your primary focus is supporting activities of daily living (ADLs) and updating Resident Care Plans as needs change. What You'll Do8
- 1Provide ADL assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with a focus on preserving resident dignity.
- 2Engage residents in meaningful conversation and companionship to reduce isolation and promote emotional well-being.
- 3Observe and report changes in resident condition or behavior to update their Resident Care Plan within the first 90 days.
- 4Encourage resident participation in community programs and activities, adapting to individual preferences and abilities.
- 5Support residents with dementia by using validation techniques and structured routines, ensuring a safe and calm environment.
- 6Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- 7Document care provided and observations in the electronic health record, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- 8Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistent and personalized care for each resident.
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or GED.
- 21 year of resident care experience.
- 3Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA).
- 4Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- 5Knowledge and experience working with the elderly population, with dementia experience preferred.
