Campus Safety Dispatcher, Part-Time at Glendale Community College
Overview
The part-time Campus Safety & Services Dispatcher owns front desk and security operations for students, staff, and visitors at Glendale Community College. You will answer phones, issue parking permits, manage lost and found, and relay critical information to campus safety. Work roughly 24 hours per week across varied shifts in a fast paced environment. This role emphasizes calm judgment, clear communication, and reliable coordination with public safety staff and campus resources.
What You'll Do9
- 1Answer telephones and respond to inquiries providing information and directing individuals to campus resources
- 2Issue parking permits and handle parking related questions and services
- 3Receive document secure and return lost and found property
- 4Receive and prioritize emergency and non emergency calls for service and route information to appropriate personnel
- 5Monitor security cameras alarms and access control systems and dispatch campus safety personnel
- 6Maintain detailed records logs and reports and support administrative duties including data entry and filing
- 7Assist with special events operations and departmental initiatives
- 8Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- 9Follow district and college policies and procedures and maintain professional bearing in difficult situations
Requirements6
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2Reliable transportation and punctuality
- 3Ability to learn using two way radios and telephones
- 4Ability to learn and apply District College policies
- 5Ability to learn to use Computer Aided Dispatch CAD within 90 days
- 6Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Internet applications
