Café/Recess Aide (Part-Time) - Elementary School
Overview
You will supervise elementary students in grades K-6 during lunch and recess at Goodnoe Elementary School. You will ensure a safe, structured environment that supports positive behavior. You will report to the principal or designee, coordinating with teachers to meet student needs. This role focuses on student safety and clear communication with staff. You will work 3.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise students in grades K-6 during lunch in the cafeteria, ensuring orderly conduct and safe food handling.
- 2Oversee students during outdoor recess, monitoring play areas for safety and intervening in conflicts.
- 3Communicate with teachers and staff about student behavior or safety concerns, using email and verbal reports.
- 4Enforce school rules and procedures consistently, modeling respectful behavior.
- 5Assist with setup and cleanup of lunch and recess areas.
- 6Report incidents or injuries to the school nurse or administrator as needed.
- 7Support students with special needs during lunch and recess as directed.
- 8Attend brief staff meetings to align on supervision protocols.
Requirements6
- 1Ability to work with elementary students in grades K-6
- 2Ability to supervise children outdoors during recess and during lunch
- 3Ability to communicate effectively with teachers and staff
- 4Must complete PA State Police Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) within the last year
- 5Must submit a physician's health form and a recent TB test
- 6Must sign the Arrest/Conviction Report form and PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168)
