Buyer, Manufacturing Procurement & SAP
Overview
Own the tactical purchasing cycle for a manufacturing operation in Windsor Mill, MD. You will execute RFQs/RFIs, process purchase requisitions, and manage supplier relationships to secure materials and services. Coordinate with suppliers on delivery, quality, and pricing while tracking On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and cost savings. Drive cost analysis and negotiate terms to protect margins. This contract-to-hire role offers 3-5+ years of purchasing experience in a structured, on-site environment.
What You'll Do7
- 1Execute RFQs/RFIs and process purchase requisitions for materials and services within the first 90 days.
- 2Conduct price and cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing and identify savings opportunities.
- 3Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- 4Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, and pricing.
- 5Enter and update purchase orders in SAP accurately and promptly.
- 6Track supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and report on cost savings.
- 7Oversee quality of purchased materials and manage Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
Requirements8
- 13-5+ years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Strong tactical purchasing and supplier management skills.
- 3Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- 4Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems for procurement.
- 5Knowledge of manufacturing commodities such as wire, cable, connectors, and CNC-machined components.
- 6Ability to read drawings and prepare supplier quote packages.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- 8Strong job stability and tenure required.
