Building Maintenance Technician - Night Shift
Overview
The Building Maintenance Technician position reports to the Director of Facilities. This role focuses on performing urgent corrective routine and requisitioned repairs across electrical mechanical and plumbing systems while ensuring compliance with hospital building codes. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance documentation daily rounds and adherence to safety protocols.
What You'll Do11
- 1Perform urgent corrective routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical mechanical and plumbing systems as required
- 2Maintain equipment and systems including preventative maintenance tasks
- 3Document accurate data of inspections preventative maintenance and repairs
- 4Complete Preventative Maintenance and Daily Work Logs
- 5Conduct comprehensive daily rounds and report issues to the Director of Facilities
- 6Report to work on time and ensure no incidental overtime with proper documentation
- 7Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- 8Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- 9Work day evening night and weekend shifts as assigned
- 10Perform manual duties such as moving supplies replacing light bulbs
- 11Follow infection control precautions and emergency clinical intervention protocols
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2Minimum one year experience in mechanical equipment repair troubleshooting and maintenance
- 3Trade school or on the job training in HVAC Electrical Plumbing Boiler Steam and Central Plan Operations
- 4At least two years of hospital setting experience preferred
- 5Problem solving communication teamwork learning adaptability skills
- 6Common knowledge of facility operation repair and maintenance techniques along with tool characteristics and safety standards
