- 1Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility for services
- 2Submit and process insurance authorizations addressing barriers to approval
- 3Review and scrub claims prior to submission to ensure compliance with payer requirements
- 4Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and other payers
- 5Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by researching and resolving discrepancies
- 6Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and coding
- 7Stay current on billing regulations coding guidelines and insurance policy changes
- 8Conduct audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement
- 9Generate reports and track billing metrics revenue and accounts receivable
- 10Serve as billing resource for internal staff providing guidance and process support
- 11Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical billing practices
Requirements5
- 11+ years of medical billing and coding experience healthcare behavioral health preferred
- 2Certification: CPB or CPC preferred
- 3Proficiency with billing software EHREMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- 4Experience with Tebra highly preferred
- 5Strong understanding of billing terminology CPTICD-10 coding and reimbursement methods
Salary Insight
$45 - $50k per year
