Overview
As a Behavioral Health Technician at Bay Area Recovery, you will own the daily care and safety of clients in a substance use disorder treatment setting. You will support a team of clinicians and counselors, ensuring a calm, structured environment. Your role directly impacts client recovery outcomes through consistent, empathetic support. What You'll Do9
- 1Monitor client behavior and safety during shifts, documenting observations with EMR systems.
- 2Lead group check-ins and activities, fostering a supportive community atmosphere.
- 3Transport clients to appointments and outside meetings using company vehicles, following safety protocols.
- 4De-escalate conflicts using CPI techniques and maintain professional boundaries.
- 5Coordinate with clinical staff to adjust care plans based on client progress and needs.
- 6Administer urine analysis tests and record results accurately, ensuring chain of custody.
- 7Facilitate daily living skills training, including meal preparation and medication scheduling.
- 8Respond to emergencies by following CPR and first aid protocols, and document incidents.
- 9Support client intake and discharge processes, completing paperwork and orientation.
Requirements7
- 11+ year experience in behavioral health, SUD, or recovery setting.
- 2Valid driver's license and clean driving record for client transport.
- 3Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- 4Strong collaboration skills and openness to supervisor direction.
- 5Reliability and punctuality with sound judgment in client interactions.
- 6Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries per HIPAA.
- 7Preferred: Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor or similar credential.
