You will own the barber chair at The Edge Barbershop, a luxury men's grooming destination in New York, delivering precision haircuts and shaves to a discerning clientele. You will join a team of skilled barbers backed by Romeo Punla and Steven Liguori, with a decade of experience in the art of grooming. This role stands apart with its focus on scissor work, skin fades, and straight razor hot towel shaves, plus opportunities for camouflage, color, and Keratin treatment training. You will work in a high-end, contemporary space designed by VDA Designs, providing a polished and professional experience for every client.
What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver 5+ years of expert barbering, including full scissor cuts, scissor/clipper combos, and skin fades at an intermediate to expert level.
- 2Perform straight razor hot towel shaves with precision, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
- 3Conduct client consultations, offering professional style suggestions based on hair type and head shape, and communicate throughout the service.
- 4Maintain a clean workstation, disinfecting clippers, scissors, combs, and other tools before and after each client.
- 5Greet clients, offer beverages, and deliver exceptional customer service with a pleasant attitude toward teammates and guests.
- 6Promote and sell retail products, recommending items that suit each client's grooming needs.
- 7Handle miscellaneous tasks during downtime, such as sweeping hair and cleaning stations, to keep the shop pristine.
- 8Complete camouflage and color services as required, with training provided if needed.
- 9Utilize Keratin treatment skills when available, though not required for this role.
Requirements8
- 13-5 years of professional barber experience, with a valid Barber License in New York.
- 2Expert scissor skills for both full scissor cuts and scissor/clipper combinations.
- 3Intermediate to expert level skin fades with consistent results.
- 4Proficiency in straight razor hot towel shaves.
- 5Experience with camouflage and color services, or willingness to train.
- 6Strong communication and customer service abilities, with a focus on client consultation and satisfaction.
- 7Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive team attitude.
- 8Knowledge of Keratin treatments is a plus but not mandatory.
