Azure DevOps Architect, Policy-as-Code & Infrastructure
Overview
You will architect enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure governance for hundreds of subscriptions, embedding security policy directly into CI/CD pipelines across 500+ engineering teams. You'll lead design of deployment stacks and manage deny assignments. This role blends deep cloud architecture with policy-as-code enforcement, offering a 12-month contract with remote flexibility.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design and deploy Azure Deployment Stacks for enterprise-scale infrastructure lifecycle governance, managing resources across hundreds of subscriptions
- 2Enforce Azure Policy and deny assignments to prevent configuration drift and secure cloud resources
- 3Implement Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Policy-as-Code patterns, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines for automated compliance checks
- 4Drive the adoption of Terraform and Bicep for infrastructure as code, standardizing deployment templates across teams
- 5Build and maintain pipeline configurations in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions to enforce policy gates at scale
- 6Mentor platform engineers on Azure governance and security best practices, fostering a culture of shared ownership
Requirements7
- 15+ years architecting Azure solutions, with deep knowledge of Azure Resource Manager, Subscriptions, and Management Groups
- 23+ years hands-on with Azure Deployment Stacks, including resource scoping and deny assignment enforcement
- 32+ years implementing Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Policy-as-Code in enterprise environments
- 4Proficiency in Terraform and Bicep for infrastructure as code
- 5Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline creation
- 6Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST and CIS to align policy designs
- 7Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
