Automotive Technician Mechanic Job - San Francisco Bay Area
Overview
Diagnose and repair a diverse range of vehicles at a reputable family-owned shop. What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and OBD-II scanners.
- 2Repair brake systems, suspension components, and steering mechanisms.
- 3Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- 4Conduct smog inspections and ensure compliance with state regulations.
- 5Explain repair options and costs to customers in clear, honest terms.
- 6Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
- 7Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols.
- 8Collaborate with team members to complete complex repairs efficiently.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- 2Valid ASE certification in brakes, suspension, or engine repair.
- 3Proficiency with diagnostic software and OBD-II scanners.
- 4Strong customer service skills to explain repairs and build trust.
- 5Physically capable of lifting heavy parts and standing for long periods.
- 6Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- 7Ability to work Monday through Thursday 8 AM-5 PM and Fridays 8 AM-4 PM.
