Automotive Parts Specialist, Collision Repair & Estimating
Overview
You will own parts coordination for a high-volume collision repair shop, managing parts from receipt to installation. What You'll Do8
- 1Receive and verify all incoming parts against work orders, flagging discrepancies for immediate resolution.
- 2Organize the parts department, binning and labeling to cut retrieval time by 20%.
- 3Process returns and credits for damaged, incorrect, or missing parts within 48 hours.
- 4Reorder parts as needed, using Inventory Management systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
- 5Post parts invoices into the management system, ensuring pricing accuracy for every job.
- 6Back up the front desk by answering calls, scheduling repairs, and updating customers on status.
- 7Create accurate written repair appraisals for fleet and dealership vehicles, under the guidance of senior estimators.
- 8Develop a working knowledge of CCC ONE and Mitchell estimating platforms.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of hands-on experience with automotive parts, either in a shop or dealership setting.
- 2Knowledge of OEM parts categories, including body, mechanical, and electrical components.
- 3Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing high-volume inventory.
- 4Process-driven mindset, able to follow SOPs precisely without supervision.
- 5Comfortable with Microsoft Excel for tracking parts and generating reports.
- 6Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through certifications or courses (e.g., ASE P2).
- 7Team player with a positive attitude, ready to support technicians and customer service peers.
- 8Passion for automobiles, evidenced by hobbies, projects, or formal training.
