Automotive Painter, Auto Body & PPG Water-Based Paint
Overview
You will own the paint booth at Incaudos Auto Body in Chicago, delivering showroom-quality finishes on every repair. You will run high-volume collision jobs from prep to final clear coat, using PPG water-based paint systems. Our team of 12 techs handles 80+ cars monthly, and your work defines our reputation. This role demands precision, speed, and a zero-compromise eye for color.
What You'll Do8
- 1Set up and maintain spray equipment, including guns, booths, and mixing systems.
- 2Prep surfaces through sanding, masking, and priming to ensure flawless adhesion.
- 3Mix and match colors using PPG water-based paint, hitting factory blends exactly.
- 4Spray base coats, clear coats, and specialty finishes without runs, sags, or debris.
- 5Inspect each job under booth lighting, correcting imperfections before delivery.
- 6Coordinate with body techs to sequence repairs and meet production schedules.
- 7Manage paint inventory, ordering supplies and tracking usage to control costs.
- 8Document work performed and report completion status to the production manager.
Requirements7
- 13+ years painting vehicles in a collision repair setting.
- 2Hands-on experience with PPG water-based paint lines, including mixing and spraying.
- 3Proven ability to match colors and blend panels seamlessly.
- 4Skills in wet sanding, buffing, and polishing for final finish correction.
- 5Familiarity with masking, priming, and booth operation protocols.
- 6Attention to detail, delivering defect-free finishes consistently.
- 7Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Palatine shop.
